3.B.1 Reduction targets

Our measurable main objective is to implement various energy saving measures and thereby reduce the CO2 emissions for Marconi Holding bv by 7% over a period of 3 years compared to the new reference year. This means a 7% reduction in 2023 H1. This reduction will mainly have to be achieved in scope 1 and scope 3, as with the construction of the new building we have virtually no CO2 emissions in scope 2 as of 2020 H1.

Scope 1
For Scope 1, the sub-target is to reduce CO2 emissions by 5% by 2023 H1 compared to 2019 H2 and 2020 H1.

To achieve these objectives, the following measures have been developed for scope 1, namely fuel consumption of cars, equipment and freight transport.

  • When purchasing new passenger cars, choose maximum CO2 emissions per category in accordance with the car regulations.
  • Encourage people to choose EVs
  • When purchasing new vans, choose maximum CO2 emissions of 147 g/km
  • For freight transport, use Diesel B20 as much as possible and in the future HVO (100% biodiesel)
  • Replace old truck with a more economical truck (DAF XF95)

Scope 2
With the construction of our new building, major steps have been made in terms of CO2 emissions. For example, the building has a heat pump, making it gas-free. The electricity supplied is 100% Dutch wind as of 202 0H1, so there are no CO2 emissions. The building is therefore CO2-neutral and no further reductions can be achieved here.

However, what is still possible is reducing the KWh that are taken from the grid. We achieve this by placing approximately 1,000 PV panels on our factory roof. With this, an average of 70% of our electricity needs are generated ourselves. The objective for scope 2 is to reduce the KWh by 50% in 2023 H2 compared to the reference year.

Scope 3
For Scope 3, the sub-target is to reduce CO2 emissions by 2% by 2023 H1 compared to 2019 H2 and 2020 H1.

To achieve these objectives, the following measures have been drawn up for scope 3, in particular reducing private km’s and business flight km’s
